E.1 Introduction
E.1.2 Summary
The transcoder assembly can be used to double the voice-channel capacity of an
E1 line, as shown in Figure E-2. The full-rate E1s can come from DCS systems,
channel banks, PBXs, or other E1 PCM stream signal sources.
